Associate Attorney
Michael Stannard
Michael Stannard grew up in Winnemucca, Nevada, before moving to Reno to study Political Science and History at University of Nevada. After graduating, Michael spent a year working as a lobbyist for issues regarding taxation, solar energy, and medical marijuana. He then moved to Las Vegas where he received his Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law in 2017.
During law school, Michael participated in the Thomas and Mack Mediation Clinic for two semesters, primarily conducting divorce and custody mediations. Additionally, he completed externships with the Honorable Judge Linda Marie Bell, the Nevada System of Higher Education’s General Counsel Office, and Nevada Legal Services.
It was in his experience with the Mediation Clinic that Michael first developed the passion and skills necessary to help guide clients through both the legal and emotional challenges that result from Divorce and Custody cases. Michael has extensive experience with cases involving complex child custody issues, business and
asset appraisals, alimony, as well as cases with a high level of conflict between the parties. Regardless of the circumstances, Michael works hard to ensure his clients are heard, that they understand the legal process, and that their positions are zealously advocated for.
Prior to joining the ZT Law Group, Michael primarily practiced family law, however he also has experience practicing both personal injury and insurance defense law. Michael continues to volunteer with the Thomas and Mack Mediation Clinic, enjoys traveling with his wife who is also an attorney, passionately roots for the Yankees, and closely follows Formula 1 in his free time.
